Designing The Connected Home (CEDIA)
This CPD is designed to examine the design and installation of technology in the connected home and appreciate the benefits of home automation, systems integration and structured wiring. We will highlight why good design is essential and the possibilities for integrating technology in projects.
By the end of the seminar, you will have a basic understanding of cabling/infrastructure requirements, key AV terminology and when to utilise a Technical Specialist in the early stages of any project.
Introduction to Integrated Lighting Design
This CPD aims to highlight the power of integrated lighting – exploring how the feeling of a space can be completely transformed by altering the intensity, placement and colour of light.
By the end of the course you will be able to differentiate between different lighting design techniques and design considerations when laying out plans for integrated lighting. As well as be able to identify when a technical professional should be involved in the process to enable simplicity of the control and application.
Cabling for the Integrated Home
This CPD will discuss the Smart Home and the importance of a stable Network. It will begin with a definition of the Smart Home, before moving on to explore topics including The Internet of Things, entertainment, modern building methods, bandwidth and Smart Home wiring infrastructure.
By the end of the seminar you should have a greater understanding of key vocabulary, basic design principles and the requirements to cable an ‘Integrated Home’.
Outdoor Technology: Extending the Living Space
This CPD looks to the evolution of integrated technology expanding to outside of the home. We will identify the possible technologies and options that can be installed and controlled as well as how environmental conditions influence these.
By the end of the course you will have confidence to review infrastructure and equipment needs and understand outdoor project site evaluations.
