Project: Suffolk Hall

Our Suffolk Hall Property was a renovation project of an Old Hall. From being a tired old property when I first visited with the client, to now a beautiful modern family home full of technology. Our task for this property was to incorporate Audio Visual, Full Home Network, CCTV & Rako Lighting Control.

Sonos Multi Room Audio in every habitable area.
Most Areas within this property have Sonos Audio. Below are the locations
- Reception Room
- Garden Room
- Kitchen
- Formal Dining Room
- Master Bedroom
- Master En-Suite & Dressing room
- External Games Room
- Pool House
The Speakers we opted for in the property were Monitor Audio In-Ceiling speakers. They worked & are still working great in this property.
All areas with TV have Audio return, meaning the client has the TV sound through the speakers.
Pool House Audio:
Within the Pool House, we Installed Monitor Audio Vecta On Wall speakers in the Pool Area & Outdoor Kitchen. The Monitor Audio Speakers are being driven by Sonos amps, which are located within the 9U AV rack.
Wireless Rako Lighting & Blind Control:
We installed a Full Wireless Rako Lighting Control System within the Property.
We opted to use Rako EOS Keypads within the property. Giving the client control of their Lighting locally via a Keypad. Being able to create that perfect lighting scene at the touch of a button.
Rako Dimming / Switching / Blind Modules have been distributed cleverly around the property to allow for the full wireless Rako Signal throughout.

TV Distribution:
We Installed TV’s throughout – Locations below:
- Sony 55” OLED for the Reception Room
- Samsung Frame TV for the Master Bedroom
- Bedrooms
- Games Room
Each Location has a Future Automation motion bracket. Using the Future Automation bracket allows us to have very simple control of the bracket, by being able to seamlessly move the bracket in & out with one finger.
AV & Network Rack
We were given the space in the Plant Room to be able to install 2 x 27U Sanus Racks. This way, everything can be centrally located within the property in one location. We were given the correct ventilation & cooling so we can keep everything at the right temperature within the area. This is majorly important when it comes to the longevity of electronic equipment.
Network Distribution: The most important part of the whole installation.
We decided to install a Full Ubiquiti Network within the House.
This gives the homeowner a Full distributed (Wireless & Wired) Home Network throughout. We achieved this by using the following kit Internally & Externally
- Dream Machine Pro
- 48 Port POE Pro Network Switch
- 8 Port POE Network Switch
- In-Wall U6 Access Points
- U6 Pro Access Points
- Exterior U6 Access Points
Pool House Network:
The Pool house network was a challenge. The Network needed to be able to be just as good as the internal Home Network but the Pool house was at least 200m away if we were to run a cable.
Running a Cable was not going to be the case, as there was no way of running it over the Hall Gardens.
We opted for a Unifi Point to Point setup. At this point it was our first ever install of this system & it worked seamlessly. 7 Years on & it is still going strong.
By throwing the network over with a Unifi Point to Point, we are able to gain great network speeds of at least 150 – 200 mbps over the air.
Once the signal reaches the Pool house via the Point to Point, this goes into a 24 Port Network Switch & we are able to distribute a wired & wireless network throughout the area.
Ajax Home Security Alarm:
We installed a Texecom Alarm system through the Main House & the External Buildings
Composed of PIR’s, Door / Window Contacts & Internal / External Sounders. We made sure this home & External buildings are covered for every eventuality.
HikVision CCTV Cameras:
We opted to install HikVision 5MP IP Cameras & a NVR located within the Loft area. CCTV was an afterthought for this client, but with access to a well lit & big loft space, we were able to get around the whole property to install the CCTV.
We ended up installing up to 8 x cameras around the Main House & External Buildings.
With an NVR & the correct Storage, we are able to give the client a constant record for at least 30 days.
Full App Control on IOS & Android via the HiK Connect App
Maintenance & Aftercare:
With everything being controlled within this project, we made the client aware that Maintenance is key.
This client opted for our SilverService. Giving the following.
- 4 annual visits per year (scheduled or call-out)
- 4 hour remote service (phone or system log in)
