Project: Notting Hill Property

Location: London

Our stunning London townhouse renovation project in Notting Hill – fully equipped with a full Control 4 system controlling the lighting, blinds and HVAC. We have a Centralised Rako Lighting & Blind system, Sonos, Multi-room Audio system all brought together by a Uni-Fi Home Network.

Control 4 Home Control System

Controlling / Integrating the below within this property:

  • TV’s – LG OLED’s
  • Sonos Audio Distribution
  • Visual Distribution
  • HVAC – Air con & Heating
  • Wired Rako Lighting & Blinds

Client Interface:

Control 4 Halo Remotes for each TV – Being able to control the TV & Audio from the touch of a button. Whether that is Netflix, Apple TV or Sky, you press the icon & watch the room come alive.

For ease of control for Door Entry, HVAC, Lighting & Blinds, we opted for the Control 4 10” Touchscreens on each level of the home. This way the client is always near a control panel for ease of use of the system.

Control 4 App Control – Away from the home? Not a problem. With the Control 4 App you have all the same capabilities of control away from the home as you do inside the home. This client will now be able to control their Heating/Cooling or their Lighting/Blinds & checking up on the CCTV even when they are not at home. Giving the client full control & peace of mind when they are away.

Control 4 Door Entry:

Control4 Door Entry, including two Control4 Chime Doorbells, controlled via the Control4 Touch Screens on each level of the home

Wired Rako Lighting & Blind Control:

We installed a full wired Rako Lighting & Blind system within the property.

We opted to use Rako Modular Keypads within the property which gives the client control of their Lighting & Blinds locally via the Keypad and enables them to create that perfect lighting scene at the touch of a button.

Rako RAK 8 Boards & Dimming Switching/Blind Modules located centrally back in the plant room.

Full App Control either from the Control 4 or Rako App

Sonos Multi Room Audio in every habitable area.

The Lounge area has a Sonos Wireless 5.1 set up, which includes the following:

  • Sonos Arc Soundbar & TV Attachment Bracket
  • Sonos Wireless Gen 3 Subwoofer
  • Two Origin in-ceiling speakers (Rears) powered by a Sonos Amp.

Other Audio Areas include:

  • Kitchen/Dining
  • Master Bedroom
  • Reception Room
  • Drawing Room
  • Master En-Suite & Dressing room

All areas with TV have Audio return, meaning the client has the TV sound through the speakers.

To accompany the Sonos Amps we decided to install our trusty Origin Acoustic 8” in-ceiling speakers with speaker hoods throughout. With the ease of install & the potential to upgrade to the origin speakers, these were a great option for this client.

TV Distribution:

We Installed LG G2 OLED TV’s throughout – Locations below:

  • Living Room
  • Drawing Room
  • Reception Room
  • Master Bedroom

Each Location has a Future Automation Bracket – with a sunk in Backbox, meaning we have full motion & a flush to the wall finish. Using the Future Automation bracket allows our client to have very simple control of the bracket by being able to move it seamlessly and easily to their desired angle.

AV & Network Rack

We were given the space to be able to install a 27U Sanus Rack. This way, everything can be centrally located within the property in one location. We were given the correct ventilation & cooling so we can keep everything at the right temperature within the area. This is majorly important when it comes to the longevity of electronic equipment.

Network Distribution: The most important part of the whole installation.

We decided to install a Full Ubiquiti Network within the House.

This gives the homeowner a Full distributed (Wireless & Wired) Home Network throughout. We achieved this by using the following kit Internally & Externally

  • Dream Machine Pro
  • 48 Port POE Pro Network Switch
  • 24 Port POE Pro Network Switch
  • In-Wall U6 Access Points
  • U6 Pro Access Points
  • Exterior U6 Access Points

Maintenance & Aftercare:

With everything being controlled within this project, we made the client aware that Maintenance is key.

This client opted for our Platinum Service. Giving them the following.

  • 8 annual visits per year (scheduled or call-out)
  • 16 hour remote service (phone or system log in)
